Stewart Shutters has been in business for 25 years! To succeed in business for a quarter of a century, you have to love what you do, do it well, and stay current! One of the ways we stay current at Stewart Shutters is by selecting only the best training events available to participate in as a team. Being on the cutting edge of what is new and good in the industry is important to continued success.

Earlier this year, the staff at Stewart Shutters had the opportunity to participate in training conducted by Stiles Machinery. What a great experience?! During our time there, we had the opportunity to get an overview of the new high-tech, state-of-the-art machinery that is coming. Wow!

Staying current is important and, part of staying current is keeping up with the best technology available for the work you do. At Stewart Shutters, we recently added an Altendorf Sliding Table Saw to our collection of tools. While at Stiles Machinery, we participated in in-depth training on how to use the Altendorf Saw and got a first-hand look at the many ways we can implement it in manufacturing the perfect shutter for your home. The new Altendorf saw will be useful for perfecting our French Doors, Sliders, Large-Paneled windows and much more! Of course we would love to show it off for you, give us a call and let us know when you’ll be in the area. For our hours, take a look at www.stewartshutters.com.

We may do it every day. The subtle differences that set a project apart from the others. The attention to detail. The use of quality products. The skill of someone who is experienced at what they do. The desire to not simply sell a job but the challenge to create an addition that enhances beauty and instills a sense of pride in the work accomplished.

That is not our goal at Stewart Shutters… that is our standard. To strive for anything less misses the mark of what we are here for.

It was a great honor to be guided by one of the owners through this amazing facility. Sam Maloof was a master-craftsman who understood the difference between building furniture and creating beautiful pieces of art that would be passed from one generation to another.

Sam Maloof’s artwork can be viewed from their compound in Alta Loma, to the Huntington Library to the White House and many places in between. The legacy of craftsmanship he leaves for the next generation is amazing. For those who are a part of the Stewart Shutters Team, we too understand that creating an environment in your home that enhances its beauty and comfort for your family is far more valuable than simply placing shutters on your windows.

In early 2011, the University of La Verne was engaging in a complete renovation of the Ann & Steve Morgan Auditorium.

As part of the renovation, the University of La Verne chose Stewart Shutters to custom design and manufacturer shutters to complete their beautiful new space.

Why shutters? Why not curtains or shades?

Amanda Hanson, Assistant to the Vice President for Advancement, said it best in the Office of Advancement’s blog:

“From uncomfortable seats in the auditorium we could see future stars shining on stage. We tried to offer bright smiles of encouragement, but the setting sun was shining in our faces… Thankfully, among the auditorium upgrades are the introduction of window shutters. Fully adjustable, they will elegantly block those intruding sunbeams from distracting the audience’s attention away from the stage and its most deserving performers. It seems more cost effective and environmentally friendly to install these shutters than to issue sunglasses to patrons at the door.”

Stewart Shutters would like to thank the University of La Verne for their business, and to congratulate them on their fantastic new auditorium!
